SteakLocker and KickStarter

The Bob Hoffman team was recently approached to help create a video for an awesome new San Diego start-up company called SteakLocker.

I wouldn't claim that anyone in our offices is a "foodie," per say, but we know a good steak when we see one, so we were excited when we got the opportunity to make this video.

Steaklocker combines the best of old world dry aging techniques with sophisticated modern technology allowing the consumer to control the process of dry aging and save at least 50%-70% on current retail dry age steak prices.

We weren't familiar with dry aged beef prior to this but when we tasted the steaks aged in the SteakLocker we were pleasantly surprised.  The aging process really concentrates all of the flavors into your meat, giving you all the tastes that you like about steak- but turned up to 11.  It was one of the best steaks we ever had.

We put together a KickStarter video that gives you all the information on the SteakLocker and what you can do to help this start-up bring the best beef experiences to consumers worldwide.

If you have a Start-Up or project that you are KickStarting and need attention grabbing media to go along side it, Bob Hoffman Photography and Video would love to work with you. Give us a call at 858.576.0046.

This KickStarter's success has taken off. With a great product and our media helping to explain the process and benefits of the machine, this campaign has now doubled its original goal.

Plus, this weekend our media was featured on some amazing publications all over the web.

USS Coronado Homecoming

This past week we were invited to photograph the homecoming ceremony of the USS Coronado.

This is a newly created ship that is being added to the fleet in Coronado Island.  The ship had been away with it's crew for over 11 months, so as the tug boats toted the ship into the port you could see the excitement and joy of the families start to bubble up.

As the navy men and women finally walked down the gang plank their families and friends who were waiting held up "Welcome Home" signs and ran in for giant hugs.  It's hard to not get choked up when awesome moments like this happen.

Check out the video below:

Thanks to Lincoln Military Housing for organizing such a great event.  They do such an amazing job fostering healthy community for soldiers and their families!

Aerial Photography and Video

Want to see international tennis star Andy Murray the size of an ant? Then take a look at the photos below!

We at Bob Hoffman Photography and Video have had the opportunity to take our services to new heights.  Please don't stop reading after such a  terrible joke.

Through aerial photography and videography we can now offer our clients never before seen views.
Take for example the opportunity we had this past weekend to shoot at the 2014 Davis Cup at Petco Park.

We use a quad-copter drone, outfitted with an HD camera, to soar, over-head to snap photos and record videos- highlighting a locations beauty in ways that most people don't usually get to see. The future is now.

Give us a call at our office to see how you can take advantage of this new technology.

Non-Profit Video Production

We at Bob Hoffman Video and Photography have a special love for creating videos for Non-Profits that are working hard to help the community and world around them.

Video is a succinct educational tool that can explain your organization's mission in an engaging way. Plus, it gives a face to both your organization and those you are advocating for. Often these videos are used as marketing tools that aid in garnering both fundraising and volunteer support as well as brand expansion.

The good works that many non profits are doing deserve to be shown and shared! We would love to aid in telling your story.

Here are a few videos that we produced for other Non-Profits in the San Diego Area:

Thank you PRIM&R for being so day to work with. It was a pleasure!

Dear Bob,

I hope you had a happy holiday! On behalf of ... the PRIM&R staff, I wanted to express our gratitude for the vibrant photographs you snapped at the 2012 AER Conference. You captured the energy, curiosity, and diversity of engaged audience members and attendees in a way that shows what the meeting was all about. Thanksgiving Baskets at Educational Enrichment Systems (EES) with Bill Walton & Deni Jacobs

EES is near and dear to our hearts, and we so enjoy the opportunity to document the wonderful work they do!

This week, volunteers gathered with NBA legend Bill Walton and local philanthropist, Deni Jacobs, to pack and distribute 100 bags of food to deserving EES Families. Meanwhile, we documented the event and interviewed board members about their experiences with EES and how beneficial the program is to their young students. Footage will be used for local news coverage and to encourage donor support in future video edits for the organization.

EES receives state funding to help prepare low income children for kindergarden. Programs like EES save local school districts money, because prepared students achieve more and require fewer interventions. In the last few years the state has cut early education funding by 40%. If you would like to donate or find out more about the amazing work EES does, please visit:

Quality Systems Integrated Corporation (QSIC)

We had the pleasure of providing our videography and photography services to Quality Systems Integrated Corp. Quality Systems Integrated Corporation (QSIC) is a global, high-tech electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider with facilities in North America and Asia. Since 1994, Quality Systems has partnered with its customers to create customized manufacturing solutions, executed to the highest degree of quality, speed and agility.

Brandy Ton, Sales and Program Manager for QSIC said, "Excellent service means that I care. I strive to create relationships with my customers alike not just order to order. QSIC provides quality services to our customers no matter how big or small they are."

We certainly had a great time working with everyone at QSIC. Check out the promotional video we compiled for them above! Also check out QSIC website and all the services they offer at

Chula Vista's American Idol: Jessica Sanchez

Chula Vista resident, Jessica Sanchez, made it to the top three on American Idol this past week. Bob Hoffman Video & Photography had the honor of documenting her hometown visit. We were awestruck at how many fans came to see her.

Arnold De Guzman, BHVP videographer, shares a bit of his experience:
"It's always great to see how much support the hometown fans have and it was such a good turnout. Wow! Jessica is proven to be a talented singer and she's definitely worthy of becoming our American Idol!"

"I heard there were as many as 7,000 people in attendance! She's an amazing singer and of course, she seemed genuinely excited and thankful for the support of her community. Her loyal fans showed up cheering with supportive words, designed shirts and holding up creative signs," says Bryan Harrold, BHVP photographer.

Be sure to cast your votes for Jessica this week and support another San Diegan American Idol winner! Idol airs at 8pm, Wednesday & Thursday on FOX.

Above is just a snapshot of the pictures we took; check back for more pictures later this week.

Jessica Sanchez is Coming Home!

The City of Chula Vista gave us the honor of videotaping and photographing American Idol's Jessica Sanchez, tomorrow! We couldn't be more happier to be a part of this occasion. Our very own Arnold De Guzman will videotape while Bryan Harrold photographs the entire event from start to finish!

The Manila Paper reports that Sanchez will perform live in Chula Vista on Saturday, May 12, at Eastlake High School.
Below is the breakdown for the events of Jessica's Homecoming:

10:15 AM Chula Vista will welcome Jessica Sanchez with a short parade on southbound Eastlake Parkway from Otay Lakes Road to Clubhouse Drive.

11:30 AM Jessica will perform a concert for about 10,000 fans at Eastlake High School (located at 1120 Eastlake Parkway).
  • Gates will open at 9 AM for those who want to arrive early.
  • Fans are reminded that seating in the Eastlake High School’s football stadium is on first come, first served basis.
  • Guests are encouraged to carpool.
  • Attendees should arrive from the south using Olympic Parkway or from the east using Clubhouse Drive to Eastlake Parkway. Eastlake Parkway will be closed to traffic from Clubhouse Drive to Otay Lakes Road from approximately 8:30 a.m. until noon in order to permit safe viewing of the procession.
  • Public transit will be re-routed. Riders might experience delays.

2:00 - 3:00 PM Celebration on the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum at downtown’s Broadway Pier.
    • Only 3,500 will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.
    • Admission is free but limited.
    • No coolers, backpacks, umbrellas, pets or lawn chairs are permitted but you may bring your homemade signs and best television smiles.
    • Absolutely no food or beverages other than water are allowed on the field.

Chula Vista mayor Cheryl Cox will lead Jessica's welcome. “Our community is thrilled to welcome home Jessica — she is already Chula Vista’s Idol,” said Cox. “Her amazing talent and accomplishments are deserving of this grand celebration. We are so proud of her.”

This event was sponsored by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation and SDG&E. Sanchez is one of three finalists vying to win the title of American Idol, a nationally televised music program. She is the youngest contestant and the only West Coast participant. The show is in its 11th season and has over 43 million viewers.

    Annual Read Across America Day

Once again, we had the pleasure of providing video and photography to Educational Enrichment Systems (EES) in celebrating Read Across America Day on March 2. The idea behind this particularly day is to honor the birthday of Dr. Seuss by supporting children's literacy!

As always, the community support was fantastic. More than 130 community members and parents participated at all of the 22 EES preschools! A librarian, a police chief and fire fighters entertained children at the Jeff and Deni Jacobs Child Development Center in Linda Vista while the other locations hosted school principals, military personnel, teachers, literacy coaches and many more!

Tom deMalignon, one of our senior videographers said, "As a person who has a passion for reading, it's wonderful to see these kids embrace reading at such a young age.  I really think it's an invaluable gift."

What a great joy it is to, once again, work with EES at an event that highlights high quality early childhood education in action.

ARTS provides children A Reason to Survive!

There are so many applications for Video and Photography, in supporting organizations to meet their goals, that we’ve developed a diverse set of clients over the years. One special niche we’ve cultivated is with non-profit organizations.

Video can be a powerful tool for non-profits because it has the inherent ability to show how it helps people through personal interviews and stories.  On top of learning about program details,  video creates a personal connection which works well in sharing the positive effects had on a community.

“ARTS: A Reason to Survive” is a nonprofit organization, “dedicated to healing, inspiring, and empowering youth facing life challenges by providing innovative arts-based programs, education, and employment opportunities.” We had the sincere pleasure of creating a overview video for this dynamic organization which helped them reach community members, who may either need support from or want to give support to ARTS. | 858.576.0046

    NTP Distribution's 50th Anniversary

On February 22, the San Diego Convention Center was overflowing with employees, vendors and customers of NTP Distribution, in celebration of a half a century of successful partnerships. Founded by Walton J. Lewis in 1962, NTP Distribution's parts and accessories have been distributed to RV dealers nationwide.

As a tribute to the many people who have helped make this company great over the years, we produced a 50th Anniversary video which played as the evening's main entertainment.

An important goal of the event was to honor and thank those that help NTP Distribution's mission, "to empower our dealers with the parts, service and support they need to get customers on the road." | 858.576.0046

1,100+ Children Receive Holiday Gifts From Friends of EES

"Get involved and make a difference in a child's life," states Deni Jacobs, long time supporter of Educational Enrichment Systems (EES).

And what a difference the annual EES Holiday Gifts event made to over 1,100 children!  Bill and Lori Walton, as well as other generous Friends of EES, helped bring smiles to the faces of many children who might have gone without during the Holidays.  We were honored to cover this event and share in joy felt by all. | 858.576.0046

EES Thanksgiving Baskets Event Warms Hearts As They Warm Stomachs

About 750 million pounds of cranberry, 2.4 billion pounds of sweet potatoes and 248 million turkeys are produced in the United States each year for Thanksgiving.

However, even with all this food, many low-income families are still unable to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with their family.  It's for this reason that Educational Enrichment Systems (EES) created the Thanksgiving Baskets event.

Jeff and Deni Jacobs, along with other compassionate volunteers, assembled Thanksgiving Baskets to provide for EES families. As always, it was our great pleasure to record this touching, annual event and pay witness to the true spirit of the Holidays. | 858.576.0046
